Mini Sessions

These sessions are planned quarterly by JMS Photography. Please check back for upcoming mini sessions and themes under the Mini session tab. To plan a mini session outside of quarterly planned session, please contact JMS Photography to discuss options.



I want my session outside, when should I book it?

The sun is best about an hour before sunset or sunrise. It's golden and magical and what us photographers call the Golden Hour. So I would encourage booking then to get the most out of your location and lighting.

Do I need to bring anything with me to my session?

Absolutely not. I do always encourage the use of personal props. This makes the session more personalized and allows the client to be in control a bit. With that being said, it is not necessary to bring anything with you. Whether in studio or on location, I will discuss with you what props I have available for you to use during your session.

What should I wear to my session?

Investing in a session means you are looking for images that you will love and enjoy displaying. So I always suggest thinking about your session. Will it be cold out? Is it summer? Would you like coordinating clothing, or a themed session? Once we have a booked date, I will discuss with you the type of appropriate clothing to get the images you want.

How many people can I have in my session?

To make sure that you get the most out of your investment, I allow up to 5 people per session. Adding any more people to a session includes more work, time, and editing for me. For each additional person it is an additional $25 to session price.

Do I have to order prints through you?

It is not necessary to order prints thru JMS Photography, however, to get the best quality and color from your images it might be the best option. JMS Photography edits off a calibrated monitor that works with my printing lab. Ordering from me will provide you with high quality color, sharpness, and photo paper durability. You may request pricing for prints A la Carte, along with other products available.

Ok, I booked my session, now what?

JMS Photography works very closely with their clients to make sure you get everything you want out of your session. A phone consultation will be provided before your session going over in detail everything that was already discussed, what to expect, props that will be used, and location. A courtesy call will also be provided two days before your session to confirm time and location and to make sure there are no further questions. If you ever need anything at all emailing, texting, or calling at anytime is acceptable and you will be answering back in a timely manner.
